Carpet dining room tips
A rug under a dining table should be large enough so that the back chair legs stand on the rug. In a dining room, it is recommended to put a rug under the table to reduce the noise in the room, but also to add more color, coziness and texture to the room.
The carpet should be at least 75 cm beyond the edge line of the table. The ideal size is therefore at least 1.00 m longer or wider than the table. The proportions of the carpet should be adapted to the table. It should also be larger than the table so that the chairs can be pulled back easily without the back legs sliding off the carpet. Since the centre of the rug is covered by the table and chairs, the design of its edges is particularly important.
Carpet for a regular size dining room
Regular size dining table
Ideally, the carpet should be about 50 to 70 centimetres longer than the table on all sides so that the chairs do not stand on the edge of the carpet when they are moved or shifted. Therefore, for a table size of e.g. 100x150 cm, we recommend a carpet in the minimum size of 170x240 cm.
Standard sizes:
170x240 cm (table size: 100x150 cm)
200x250 cm | 250x350 cm (table size: 100x180 cm)

Standard sizes:
250 x 350 / 300 x 400 cm (table size 100 x 200 cm).

Ø 200 cm round | Ø 250 cm round (table size: Ø 150 cm)
