Living room rug tips
There are certain items of furniture that are relevant for all three contexts. If your sofa or armchair has free-standing legs and there is a gap between the floor and the seating area, we recommend sliding the rug halfway underneath the furniture. A great look that offers a soft feeling when you stand up.
If the sofa sits close to the ground, or has covers that go right down to the ground, or has a full metal trim instead of legs, it should either be positioned entirely on the rug or next to it.
We hope you have fun moving your furniture around and trying things out.
Carpet for small living room
Small rooms
The rug should be placed centrally under the table and is close to the sofa or armchair (not below). The proportions of the rug should also match the seating furniture and not just the table, ideally the rug is slightly wider than the furniture pieces, this alternative creates a larger overall impression of the room.

Rugs for medium living rooms
Medium rooms
The rug is partially positioned under the front half of the chair or sofa. This option is particularly good if the furniture sits up against the wall. Just the front legs are positioned on the rug. Not suitable for cupboards or tables — this would make them lopsided.Standard sizes: 200x300 cm | 200x350 cm | 250x300 cm
Rugs for large living rooms
Large rooms
| The
rug should be large enough for all the furniture to be positioned on it. There
should be sufficient space around the items of furniture to ensure the room
does not feel too packed. This kind of island effect can delimit the
living area from the rest of the room, making it ideal for open dining/living rooms. Standard sizes: 250x350 cm | 300x400 cm |
