Mahakali Uni
The Mahakali Uni is a hand-knotted wool rug from Nepal, crafted in a workshop in the Kathmandu Valley. Wool and hemp fibres are hand-spun and knotted into a short pile with 71,000 knots per square metre. The materials stay in their natural tones. The mélange emerges from the fibres themselves.
The rug carries the irregularities that Tibetan craftsmanship brings. The surface is dense, but not smooth. Hemp gives it grip, wool makes it soft enough to stand on barefoot. For rooms that can take quiet tones and materials that do not need to look perfect.
